Usain Bolt, Olympic gold medallist has tested positive for Coronavirus. He is self-isolating at his home in Jamaica. He’s asymptomatic so far. He had a mask free party last week and got tested Saturday. So, considering that like 90-something percent of people would be symptomatic by now, most likely he will remain asymptomatic. He had a huge birthday party, and that’s where he got sick. He must have known someone had it afterward because he quarantined himself and got tested.

While we obviously hope he’s okay first and foremost, studying his reaction to it and the long term effects he faces could provide some really interesting insight into how it affects the body. People who had barely moderate cases of coronavirus, months later still struggle with chronic fatigue, constant racing heart, inability to catch a breath, etc. despite the fact they’re completely cured of the virus. Studying how one of probably the fittest men in the world and who is very high profile and has access to some of the best doctors react to it could tell us a lot about what it does to the body to make it respond that way.
Hopefully he makes speedy recovery.
