Marvel Order TO WATCH: BEGINNERS GUIDE chronological order

If you want to watch and understand the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Here’s the correct order on how to watch Marvel films. In chronological order, starting with Steve Rogers’ origin in WWII with Captain America: The First Avenger, and ending with Peter’s high school trip in Spider-Man: Far From Home. This Marvel movies order to watch is best if you want to see the MCU events take place as they happen.


Here’s the chronological viewing order of the Marvel movies:


  • Captain America: The First Avenger (takes place during WWII)

The start of the whole Avengers story. Features the Tesseract and Red skull

  • Captain Marvel (takes place in 1995)

Features the Tesseract and the introduction and foundation in creating the modern SHEILD 

(Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury)


  • Iron Man (takes place in 2010)

The very beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The first movie MCU released in the Avengers story line (2008)

  • Iron Man 2 (takes place after Iron Man)

Continuation of Iron Man


  • The Incredible Hulk (time unspecified, pre-Avengers)

  • Thor (takes place six months before Avengers)

Introduces the God of Thunder to the MCU. The son of the mighty Odin, King of Asgard and the protector of the Nine Realms.

  • The Avengers (takes place in 2012)

  • Guardians of the Galaxy (sometime in 2014)

Story of a group of unwilling heroes protecting the Orb aka the power stone.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (after Guardians)

  • Captain America: Civil War (post-Ultron, pre-Infinity War)

War between friends in order to save a friend.

  • Black Panther (takes place in 2017)

Story of a hidden kingdom, Wakanda. And a royal family dispute

Where Thor meets his imprisoned evil sister being freed due to the death of his father, the end of Asgard.

  • Avengers: Infinity War (takes place in 2017)

The most anticipated movie of the decade, the beginning of the very end. The first MCU movie to hit the 2 Billion $ Box office.

  • Ant-Man and The Wasp (ambiguous, but fits nicely between IW and Endgame)

The Quantum realm comes into play (watch the movie, you’ll understand 😉 gives the only hope of a better future.

  • Avengers: Endgame (starts in 2017, finishes in 2022)

The Very End of story line which started in year 2008 from the Iron Man movie, Highest grossed movie ever in box office (Until Avatar cheated) , 2.7 billion $ Box office *start watching from the top, you’ll be amazed by watching this one.


  • Spider-Man: Far From Home (eight months post-Endgame)

“Everywhere I go I see his face” which brings tears to true Marvel fans. Spider Man faces an Enemy who does camera tricks, thrilling yet fun to watch. This concludes the Ultimate story line of the MCU’s Avengers Phase 1, 2 and 3.
